2 ♣ [VIDEO/ACTION FOR THE GOLDENROD TR BASE]

It has come to my attention that I require more Pokemon.

[Good morning, feed! Today, you get treated to the sight of the beautiful (obviously!) Celestia Ludenberg, sitting inside...somewhere at a fairly non-descript table with a cup of tea in her hand. The cup itself is rather elegant, and she's holding the matching saucer daintily below it. The angle of the camera is almost arty, as if she'd spent time positioning it perfectly. Not that she has, of course! Such things are unnecessary for someone as perfect as her.

Looking off to the side, lost in thought, she takes a sip of her tea and continues.]

Three is simply too small a number if I am to become a successful trainer - for it's true that the best trainers make quite a lot of money, no?

[Ulterior motive? What ulterior motive? How dare you.]

Hence, I have decided to post my query to this 'network', as I imagine there are those of you out there who actually know what they're talking about. Well, at least....that is my hope. I am prepared for disappointment. What species of Pokemon would you recommend to build a powerful team?

[Smiling brightly, Celestia links her fingers and tilts her head to the side.]

Please do not suggest anything stupid or ugly, although I understand such things are inevitable with some of you. Thank you very much!

[ACTION]

[Celes has taken to exploring the base again, still in her regular clothes. She has no intention of wearing the repulsive Rocket uniform unless someone physically forces her into it (although she....really hopes it doesn't come to that....), and isn't bothered by the fact that she clearly stands out like....well, like herself.

At her side, her Vulpix is padding along silently, occasionally looking up at her trainer, who appears lost in thought.

She's ready to reply to any messages she receives, but for now is more interested in poking around the base. Like her Vulpix, she's capable of moving rather silently. Entering one particularly interesting door, she-]

Oh! Please forgive me - I didn't realise anyone was in here.

[Feel free to welcome her or kick her out; she's prepared for either scenario.]

How d'you feel about horses? You look like the type that'd go for a Ponyta, probably.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

That's a bit of a complicated question. What Pokemon do you currently have, if I may ask? If you're interested in doing a lot of battling, it's generally a good idea to have a variety of types that cover each other's weaknesses.

[Denzel, Growlithe, Ekans and his newly acquired Eevee can be seen in a room as Crocker proceeds to learn what Eevee can do and more importantly how to evolve this Pokemon. A Pokemon egg is cluching in one of his arms. Celes will probably walk in as Eeeve finishes a tackle attack on the wall. Crocker jumps as a voice is heard and scrambles to catch the Pokemon egg, lucky he does and the man breathes a sigh of relief. ]

DON’T SNEAK UP ON PEOPLE LIKE THAT! That’s my job.

[Meanwhile, Growlithe and Ekans get on their guard.]

I like Ghost Pokemon quite a lot--[and she pans the camera next to her where there is a Mismagius floating, watching.] Though, perhaps, some of them might be a little too gruesome-looking, they are quite useful in battle since physical attacks usually can't hit them.

If you need a Water-type, I'd suggest a Milotic. They combine both power and beauty, while offering a good challenge during the first few weeks of training.

Ever thought about dragon types? Or maybe steel if you're looking for something defensive. Guess it really depends on what kind of team you're trying to build and your battle style. I mean, my taste in Pokémon might not even match up with yours.

[The complete opposite of Celes comes on screen: a dirty kid with a matted mohawk who's wearing animal parts and broken scraps of armor for clothing. From her appearance he's thinking of her as an Orzhov in casual clothes (a guild of people who relentlessly accumulate wealth, which is a fairly accurate comparison here), which doesn't endear her to him, but he's in a good mood and willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.]

Get a Charmander! They turn into dragons! Onix are strong too! So are Rhyhorn and Cranidos! They can smash stuff really easily! Totodile have strong jaws and big teeth, and they turn into animals with even bigger teeth! Swinub aren't as strong, but they aren't too weak either!

[Why yes he did just name every Pokémon he has.]

What sort of Pokémon do you already have, Celes-san?

[It takes him a moment to check her ID against those he's already spoken to; so this is what she looks like, then. He'll remember it; for the time being, she's not getting video in return, just because he still hates talking to the machine.]

Unfortunately, Miss Ludenberg, you'll find that "power" and "aesthetically pleasing" are often mutually exclusive. At least as far as this world goes.
